Raj Tilak Suite

This suite stands out for its arched low ceiling along the entrance passage. Since this was the venue for Maharana Pratap’s coronation, it was decreed that no one should enter with his head held high in front of him, but instead should enter with his head deferentially bowed. The archway is beautifully embellished with gold-leaf painting on the walls and ceiling.

OUR SUGGESTIONS

These suites were formerly part of the honored private residential wing of the menfolk of the Sisodia Dynasty to which Maharana Pratap belonged. The focus is on opulence and grandeur with a hint of masculine undertones.

With focus on vivid colour and rich Mewari art, these suites contain a mirror wall akin to the Glass palace (Sheesh Mahal). The walls are adorned with hand-painted Shekhavati murals.
